Admittedly, I’m not much of one for new year’s resolutions. I realize it helps some people to get a running start on a new project, lifestyle, or learning experience. Then again, things usually peter out after a few weeks. If you doubt this, walk into any gym today, in early January. It’s packed. Walk in again some time in March or April. Less crowded? You can bet on it.
Regardless of your penchant for follow through, here’s a resolution that’s easy to keep: Subscribe to The Media Training Blog. Do it once and it keeps on giving throughout the year, showing up in your inbox with no hassle on your part.
I pledge to help you sharpen your communications edge when speaking in any public forum and when dealing with reporters and public officials. Yes, there will be the occasional promotion (ahem, like this post). I try to keep that to a minimum and to maintain the ongoing focus on your professional development as a communicator in public situations.
And if there’s a topic you’d like to see covered, don’t be shy about offering your suggestion in the Comments section below. Thanks for being part of the community. We’ll talk again soon.
